A promise is a Promise. Picture it. February 2023. Started tracking & praying 🙏for an elusive, VERY thin limping red & white dog who suddenly appeared (and disappeared whenever sighted) in North Christian County KY…. fast forward to mid-March. She’s on the roadway. It’s an English Pointer. She’s SO thin😭💔 and scared. Forty-seven minutes coaxing, following, circling, playing dead (it works with hunting dogs sometimes🤷♀️😉) trying to feed (she completely ignored the food and it was GOOD 🥺stuff)… Going through brambles, crossing the creek four times. She’s circled back to the precariously parked truck…. but won’t surrender. Exhausted, in tears I lay down flat once again… asking God for help. I literally cried out Lord if You will allow me to catch this dog, I PROMISE to take care of her. She walked hesitantly toward me. I spoke softly and inched closer… And she laid down in the middle of the road… Surrender .🥹 Fast forward after heartworm treatment, benign tumor removals, dental, trying to overcome her trauma & fear etc to May 31, 2025. Promise is 9+yrs old now. No one has ever been remotely interested in her. Bark for Life with Christian County Relay for Life/The American Cancer society. Miraculously🙌💖 Haven has a new volunteer, Carter…and they fell in love. He absolutely melted the minute he met her, and sweet beautiful Promise – who STILL cowered & trusted no one but us – made an instant connection with him . We are overwhelmed with joy to share that Promise is being fostered by this gentle, kind, active duty soldier. (He’s awaiting possible deployment so it’s a foster for now). A young man waiting to go overseas decided to do something incredible… invest in Promise. He came & picked her up yesterday. He adores her. I sobbed with joy as they drove off. Fast forward 15 minutes. Thunder rumbles. An incredible rainstorm⛈️ burst open at the farm. The sun was shining as brightly as I’ve ever seen it and yet it was pouring… And a double rainbow🌈 🌈appeared. I watched it form🤯 It was very faint at first then got brighter. God’s message of covenant… solidifying that a promise is a PROMISE. 🙌🙌🩷🎊🎉
