Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we create this post. It has actually been a few weeks, but I was unable to write this until now. Our beloved Batman lost his battle with Feline AIDS. He was in so much pain, not wanting to move around and not eating or drinking – and he had stopped cuddling (he had slept with me nightly since his arrival at Haven). As there is no known cure and he was suffering we enlisted the help of our much loved vet Dr Michael Johnson from Mansfield Animal Hospital (we are SO blessed with this clinic and Todd County Animal Clinic – I have NO words) to ease his pain. It was an incredibly hard step but we knew it was best for Batman and it was done with the former owner’s blessing. This NEVER gets easier no matter what the circumstances and I am forever grateful for the advice Doc Johnson gave me nearly 15 years ago… if you are even able to think about putting a beloved pet down it is probably past time. I miss him every day…our big handsome black snuggly cat. Special thank you to the Mansfield staff for their care and support. I trust in the Lord that He will allow us to be reunited…until that joyful time he remains in my heart Forever my Batman…
