🥺🙏Our big handsome Benaiah, our blind quarter horse, had a massive ( yes MASSIVE) seizure earlier a couple weeks ago. He thrashed his head, slamming it into the stall wall, knocking the big oak door out of it’s track.🥺 He has cuts and bruises. (I’m not posting photos it’s bloody and nasty). The vet says it’s likely a brain tumor. Ben is ok for now – very sore. He’s on pain meds… Prognosis is very sad.
Everyone who has met and loved Benaiah over the years has been coming to see him to spend some time with him before he leaves us. Ben was the inspiration for Haven. He was the first animal I took in that was likely going to die without intervention.
Please pray for Ben and for us as we prepare for a very sad transition. (Because he is blind medication is not an option as it disorients him… He can’t tolerate it and panics. Some horses who have seizures and just stand still and shake…he does not… he thrashes violently and is a danger to himself.)
