Twas the week after Christmas and all through the farm
The animals were relaxing and safe from all harm
The gifts from The Pet Lodge – they covered the floor the generosity of their clients has left us in awe
GB was stretched out on the daybed in the room watching pack momma CJ clean up with the broom
Magoo and sweet Lovey were cuddled up sleeping (of course at 3am this morning they were both peeping)
The great Princess Bounce oh so fluffy and white was out in the mud in the yard… What a sight 🙄
Our own darling daschund Emerson the great was looking to make sure that the others all ate he was checking their bowls and checking them twice but nothing remained not even a grain of white rice
Blitzen was sprawled on the living room floor as usual he purposely was blocking the door
Promise is curled up tight on her bed and surrounded by toys she’s grabbed them all up from the other girls & boys
She LOVES to chew toys up into small tiny bits she’s rough on her treasures it gives Pack Momma some fits
Our beloved boy Moonshadow is loving his lot as he’s spent a few days with his friends at Camp Cart
Smokey the cat’s on a soft heating pad we’re sorry to say that today he feels bad at nearly 20 years old he’s neither lively nor quick but he’s stubborn and handsome though his head is quite thick
Princess Peanut and Ollie Cat in their medical wing are doing their best to harmonize as they sing it’s the song of the morning they call out everyday to remind pack Momma CJ they both want to play
Sweet Gigi and Monte are curled up on the bed… They look quite unreal and resemble the dead these 2 take their naptimes as serious stuff and if you dare wake them they’ll glare in a huff
Sweet orange tabby Ross with his bright orange swirls is on my right shoulder trying to munch my hair curls
Tugger and Gideon are lurking about planning to take over the farmhouse- of this I don’t doubt
Gretta and Gunther are hunting outside – if you were a mouse you’d have nowhere to hide
Our silly pony named Wilson is grazing below but he wishes this drizzly rain was all snow. For his coat is all fluffy and really quite thick if it were all up to him cooler temperatures he’d pick
The mares’ ears are all pinned at their respective herd mates – the boys know the drill and they yield to their fate. The girls Baby & Hella always get to go first but the boys are content knowing life could be worse
Handsome gray gelding Slate is a gentle sweet blessing he’s patient and willing with each new hoof dressing
The great Pop-n-Stop gelding though past thirty-one is as feisty and sweet as the new risen sun. He’s a challenge to feed and foundered feet are in boots but he still is quite spunky and his face is a hoot
Our Pack Daddy Tim was able for few days to work out of our home – a rare reprieve in his ways
He’s always on the roam for he works out of town and drives over 300 miles each week (and without nary a frown ).. we are beseeching our God and looking for a way… for a new job right here that we’re able stay
In this community that we chose and hold dear … May God, answer our prayer by the end of the year.
A miracle is so needed to find the right spot to continue his career and give Haven a shot🙏
So passes the Christmas of 2024 and with the New Year approaching we pray that God open the door in a great mighty way that we may be a blessing to those near and far but so often it feels like that’s as far off as a star that our goals are too lofty as we’ve so much to do but are restricted by funding no space or help and time.
Haven turns FIVE years old tomorrow January 1, 2025 and we give heartfelt deep thanks to the ones we hold dear who’ve donated, volunteered and prayed for us everyday joining in our great hope that God allow us to stay and continue the mission we long to fulfill – spreading kindness, changing futures and doing His will
May God richly bless you all that and throughout the New Year!! Thank you, our dear family & friends, for your support through a very challenging and often dark 2024… We are humbled, honored and rejoice at each contribution and encouraging thought, word and act of kindness. The future is uncertain for us to say the least. Please hold Haven in your happy thoughts and prayers as we approach 2025 humbly seeking the wisdom, the means and resources to continue to rescue, rehabilitate, re-home or provide residency for abused, neglected and unwanted canines, felines and equines.
