Today our hearts are heavy and broken… Unexpectedly we had to say goodbye to Doug. He has been struggling especially these past couple of weeks but we didn’t expect to have to send him on his way. If you’ve been to Haven or been to some of our adoption events, you have met Doug. He was a giant walking heart with fur over it.
He visited at the Cornell Memory Care center in The Adult Day Care and brought much joy and peace to so many. He has been a pillow countless times for visitors and for us… The hollow place he leaves behind is almost unbearable. We were going to do an Easter Bunny contest this year but he would have won again anyway… So we share last year’s winning bunny photos as we say goodbye to the gentlest sweetest canine spirit that ever lived….
