A year ago we took in 3 dogs at once… One from the local shelter and the other two were found in different parts of the county. One was healthy but the other two – well we had no idea what we were in for!!
Dory and Autumn have literally spent a year in treatment for heartworm and parasite infestation. Just in the past week we received the amazing incredible long-awaited news that they are clear of heartworms and all parasites!!!
Dory has been with her forever family for a while now and we are humbled and amazed that they have stuck by her through treatment after treatment and vet appointment after vet appointment!!
Little Autumn, the sweet beagle, who was completely emaciated with no fur is FINALLY going to her forever home on Saturday. This patient family has been waiting for months to bring this precious girl home.
These two girls were definitely a challenge and the expenses and extensiveness of their treatment was completely unexpected. But we made a commitment to them, we stood by them and it’s with great tears of joy that we received the news that they are strong and healthy now.
Special gratitude goes to our vets and the staff from Mansfield Animal Hospital, especially Dr Michael Johnson who refused to accept easy answers and researched and went outside the box to get these girls healthy. It is with incredible joy and gratitude that we send these girls off to their long healthy lives with their loving families.
