Another day of tears…meet Autumn.
Found her on the roadside in very North Christian County near both the Hopkins/Muhlenberg lines. She’s maybe 5 but looks older – she’s a beagle/beagle mix. Severely emaciated, nearly hairless, scarred all over, scared and ANOTHER high heartworm positive. We’ll get better pictures soon, she’s too traumatized for much, but you can see her spine. This is our FIFTH heartworm case in less than a month! That’s a lot of medication/treatment. Our vet is hopeful for Autumn, as aside from heartworms and some parasites, she is just severely malnourished (her labs look pretty good). She’ll also need to be spayed once she’s healthy enough.
